There's no technical obstacle to finding the device values that
minimize a particular metric like Delata E. The real question
is, "_what_ Delta E should be minimized ?". Most standard
Delta E measures are valid only for small color differences.
Gamut clipping often involves minimizing large color differences,
and standard Delta E measures may not give you the best possible
visual result.
