Thanks Roger and Dan R. for your insights.
I have sloppy writing skills and in reality know that the Profiles are fixed
numbers and really don9t drift. I did mean that the output from the printer
is changing and in this case the black shoes went yellowish. The time
between making a good print from a new profile and making a bad print was
two days, using all the same settings. Looks like the 9600 will be a relive
when it arrives. Dan, it sounds like you think we should do a different Rip
than the Imation, Ill pass that along.
As for the second part of the first post regarding the accuracy of a
Spectrolino.... Ive got to look into the 3Re-certification2.
I didn9t know that was possible but thought there must be a way to bring
devices into a specific range of accuracy.
As for the Digital camera profiling we have the PM 4.1.5 up front in the
Separators area and the Camera Module in the studio with PM 3.1. I havent
tested the two versions against each other yet but was told by Greytag that
there was no change in the camera module part. When it slows down Ill test
that out.
In theory if I substitute the numbers of our DC Checker chart made with our
Spectrolino with the averaged numbers of the supplied reference chart we
should get a better profile for capturing colors on a RGB Device, CCD. But
I cant help but think Im chasing the Rabbit, (color), down its hole. The
endless search for color perfection starts to seem like the Holy Grail.
I did buy on my own the Monoco camera profiler and the first profile is very
similar to the Greytagmacbeth, but I really just got it, and I have to print
out some tests. Ive only looked at them with ColorThink. They both use the
same reference file but they must do a different math.
Thanks for the Input ! Roger and Dan R.
