Bacause ColorBurst for Windows is a fully developed, fully featured
application with built in color management, full nesting and cropping
features, and
excellent PostScript and named color callout support.

The two main areas not yet included in the OS X RIP (whose initial market is
photographers, not prepress) are PostScript (and related functions like names
color callouts) and Layout (including nesting, cropping, scaling etc...).
There is no doubt both will be added, the question is which first, and how
long.
Writing a new RIP is not an instantaneous process. Buiilt in color management
is also missing, but that is not a standard RIP function, and will not
necessarily be integrated at a later date.
