The second of the eye-one color cookbooks describe the embedded Adobe
PostScript 3 interpreter in the HP5000PS, including the commands for
the UseCIE workflow used by the interpreter for in-RIP conversion of
device CMYK and how to print device CMYK calculated on the host
Macintosh without in-RIP conversion.
Simply follow the instructions to print a characterization chart, allow
the characterization chart time to dry, calculate an Eye-One Match or
ProfileMaker profile using the Eye-One / ProfileMaker presets as
described, convert to inkjet CMYK on your Mac, and download the result.
The 5000PS has a much larger gamut than SWOP, especially when you use
high quality inkjet papers without optical brightener. The size of the
gamut is not affected by where you convert, only by the ICC profiles
and rendering intents you use for the conversion.
