Camera profile functions

I have a D1X and I have a basic profiling question:

First, if I make a profile under close to daylight studio flash and if all
works well, it will compensate for sensor and conversion non-linearities and
channel gains and it will compensate for any light spectrum deviations to
produce a white-balanced color correct picture within the limitations of the
sensor capability.

Second, if I repeat the above but under incandescent light, I would expect
the same outcome.

Now if I would by mistake use the incandescent profile to process flash
pictures I expect to see a drastic color change.

Is the above assumptions basically correct?

If correct, why do I then not see any significant change at all when I
switch between the flash and incandescent profile in Phase Ones's Capture
One conversion software? The profiles are supplied by Phase One.
TIA
