I'm attempting to edit the profile for our Pictography to produce
reproductions which better match warm toned photographs and documents.
My soft proof is very close, unfortunately the actual print is not. My
understanding is that edits to the A-B tables (profile editor 4.1.1)
should effect only the soft proof. But, when I edit in the A-B
direction to match the soft proof to the print, the resulting new
profile also changes the printer output. Now the soft proof matches
prints from the unedited profile, but not prints from the new profile.
I selected A-B, Relative intent, as that is what I almost always use,
and used a Lab image as reference. I Also have Relative selected in the
Prefs for proofing. When saving I checked only A-B Relative.
Nevertheless this profile is changing the output. Any ideas on what's
going wrong? On a related note, when converting a reference image to
Lab to use for editing preview, should the image be converted to the
printer profile then converted to Lab? That's how I did it.
Thanks for any input.
