"I also had a funny thing happend the other day. I tried scrambling the
pathces (just for fun ;) ) and then I could not get past row two of the
third strip on two different medias. Cant be a coincidence...?"
Your issue is not uncommon. The DTP41 needs an identifier in the patch set
to mark the start of one patch and the beginning of the next. In the case of
darker neighboring patches the 'white' of your media will suffice, but in
lighter patches a black line is required to make the distinction between
your paper white and any patch of similar value. Monaco apps (in many
different release versions) sometimes do not place these lines where they
should be - sometimes adding a black line where there shouldn't be one
(between two dark patches) and sometimes _not_ adding one where it should.
This causes the DTP41 to choke and you get a read error - usually a blinking
green light on the device. This is more apt to happen in custom page sizes
and with problematic media types where the paper 'white' is milky (as is the
case with some backlit media).
Not to say that this is the cause of your issue, but your DTP41 doesn't know
the difference between scrambled and unscrambled patch sets. It collects
data for an app (Profiler) that has presets for patch size, column length
and patch spacing. Errors occur when the read data does not match those
specs. If you're sure your spectro is functioning properly you should take a
closer look at your patches.
