I'm (trying to) profile an HP 5500 with the UV kit attached, using
ProofMaster. However, the linearization charts are printed out with so much
ink that the black stripes between the yellow patches bleed into the yellow
patches (bleeds way too much to even measure - 4-7 millimetres from each
side). This bleeding looks like fractals or ice crystals 'seeping' in on the
yellow patches from the black dividers. The effect becomes heavier and more
pronounced as the ink level increase.
The question is if there is any way (except choosing a media type and doing
the built in linearisation) on the printer itself which will allow you to
limit the amount of ink?
I've profiled this printer before (without the UV kit) and everything worked
out smoothly on that...
