I keep getting burned by HP and this chip in the ink cartridges.
It appears to me that the only real purpose of this chip is to keep
third party vendors out but...
They keep failing.
Lee, Try to clean the contacts carefully with a moist clean lint free cloth
on the cartridge and receiver terminals. lightly shake the cartridge and
reinstall. I feel your pain and this is the reason people need to take a
serious look at Canon's Image PROGRAF line. They just build a rock solid
printer line without the games involved in consumables. I have tried every
brand from "E" to "H" and I finally came to my senses with the Canon Image
PROGRAF line. Finally a line that is built like a tank but as easy to run as
a dishwasher! Take a look or get a demo. Tim Stahl, Stahl PhotoGraphics San
