Rob,
I too noticed this new Cone system at inkjetmall.com and it sounds
good. In fact, I sent an e-mail asking why this system is not planned
for the current *inexpensive* Epsons but got no reply. It *is*
planned for many current Canon printers... I'm guessing it's related
to the cartridge chips Epson now uses.
So -- the only remaining question I have is which Canon to choose?
I've always used Epsons so I know nothing about Canons. Initially I
was going to limit myself to a letter-size printer, but if I can get
one that will print to 13" wide paper for not much more, I would. If
you have any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

The best soltions have been quad black ink sets in Epson printers, though
they have had their problems. Jon Cone just announced his new quad system
at PMA that uses Canon printers, which is said to have solved most of the
problems associated with the Epsons. The system doesn't require proprietory
software, is icc savy (soft proof in photoshop), the heads can be washed in
warm water, extra heads are available and interchangeable with different
inksets (neutral, warm, cool, selenium etc.), speeds are 4 times Epson's,
there is less bloom on gloss papers and all that for less $ than the epson
systems. It's supposed to be available in the near future at inkjetmall.com
