Both Argyll and LittleCMS are WONDERFUL tools... for programmers.
They provide a color engine, with lots of invested hours, and API
and documentation, so that somebody can build a nice UI on top of
them and sell that as a product.
Or you can also use these engines to build your own utilities:
apply profiles, create your own color transformations, verify gamuts,
combine ICC workflows with PostScript CM,... now you can even do it
interactively, with the Python extension provided by littleCMS !
