Well, yes it would. What I'm talking about is taking a "PressCMYK" image and
effectively re-assigning a new wider gamut CMYK profile to the image. In
BestColor, I would simply plug in the wide gamut CMYK space as a
source/reference profile and disable the honoring of any embedded profiles.
Before I get a lecture from the CM purists out there, I KNOW this is not the
way you're SUPPOSED to do things but I believe this is what my end-user
WANTS to do.
FWIW, I'm going to make as strong an argument as I can for a proper RGB
workflow to achieve the wider gamut "presentation" printing but I believe my
hands are tied right now if they want to stick with their current CMYK
workflow. All I can do is plead my case, make the arguments for/against and
see what happens. :-)
