1. OT: What's the easy way to adjust black and white... (Frederick
Park)
Akis Mastradonis says:
Here is one of the standard ways for adjust the tonal range of an images
(suggested by adoby).
1. After yo convert the image in your workink rgb color spase (nessesery)
open the levels dialog box.
Hold down the option key press and hold with your mouse the highligt
toll. The image sould be appear black if the image has not widest values
(video lut in preferences must to be chekced). Move your cursor to the left
until you see the first lightnest values.
Do the same for the darkest tones on the shadows tool.
Be carrefull. The strength of this methoth is the most powerfull. Check the
values after you done.
2. Open curves dialog box. Add points on the curve 1/4 and 3/4 to correct
the preffered gamma(this can be adjusted more efficiasly using leyers
blending mode to adjust only the density). This method allow you to use
double apperture on your images.
3. selective color for profesionals or color balance for home users is the
next nessesery step for adjusting the hue of highligts and shadows.
There are many methods but this is the most practical strategy. There is a
method for adjusting all the tonal range using only the levels dialogs the
same way Linoheel or ICG scanner programs do using LCH or Cmyk valeus in rgb
mode.... but i show you this next time
