Dan,

you wrote that you want to put the two profiles for
unlaminated and laminated print together. So do you
perhaps look for a conversion that negates the effect
of the laminate, to be applied to unlaminated CMYK?

I have some experience with laminated and varnished
offset prints (e.g. on cardboard, used as book covers
or in packaging). There the coating is typically an
OPP material with 0,01 to 0,15 mm thickness and almost
no color on its own. The optical effects (dot gain,
color shifts) can be described by simple corrections
to unlaminated measurement data or profiles (but are
dependent on raster frequency).

Since your lamination gives a yellow cast, you are
probably using much thicker coating material. Still
I'd be willing to compare your two measurements and
see if it fits into my experiences.

Best regards,

Hanno Hoffstadt
