How about sheer gamut size: would that argument sway you? And sheer
constrast range? I think there's still a lot of life in CRTs. I know what my
next "monitor" will be when my current Mitsu900u calibrated Luminance falls
under 80 Cd/m2: a Mitsu2060 or a SONY Artisan if they sell them without the
calibration gear.

Dear Roger
Yes sheer gamut size would certainly sway me more than increased
contrast range. Yes I too am leaning towards another CRT and am tempted
to again go for another Sony 24" unless the Artisan/Reference CRT 21" is
really better. At the moment all I have to go on are discussions such
as this....very useful, but it would be good if it were possible to see
this kit side by side in a proper editing environment.
Thanks for your input...perhaps Andrew could explain in layman's terms
how the Artisan is better than a top of the range Sony CRT (or an Apple
LCD assuming of course both are properly calibrated. BTW what is the
price of the Artisan?
Thanks
Richard
