Rudy,
I don9t know this rip,but here is my .02.
After you turn off the color management options and print your target, in a
lot of cases the printer target might look like muck. Now if the lighter
midtones are black then you want to consider these options.
What you might want to look for is a linearization and ink limiting option
in that rip. Do the lin first and then the ink limiting, then send the
printer targets. This strategy will not only give you a better looking raw
print but you final color gamut will be larger and optimized.
If the rip does not have a lin or ink limit and you think the raw image has
too much ink printing on it, then another way to work is to find a curve
option in the rip to reduce some of the ink. Fiddle with the curve to
create a better looking raw target. Then use the curve as your default
settings for creating and working with profiles in your workflow. After you
adjust the Curve, the target still might still look bad but it should not
have as much ink on it.
Good Luck
Jim Rich
