"You might want to infer that a custom profile insures that you don't ever
have to look at or further correct your images but I've yet to ever see this
be the case and with the vast majority of photographers, they fully intend
to tweak. The profile might get you closer (I'll buy that) but if the idea
is that a profile in every way insure you've nailed the image, I'm not
buying that."
"If the idea is to shoot
something and guarantee that NO editing what so ever is needed in
Photoshop,"
These discussions would be much nicer and ever so simple if you did not
choose to imply things that were not said. I expect to open each and every
file, and anyone who thinks they don't need to, I believe is fooling them
selves. I just want that process to be as fast and painless as possible.
From my extensive testing Capture One with a custom profile does exactly
that, as a profile does with my larger cameras. And I figured all that out
without being paid big bucks! I am however wicked impressed that you know
someone like that.
"There are plenty of software products that are intended to do automatic
corrections using "artificial intelligence" (or in many cases artificial
ignorance). Like any other auto control, your mileage may vary and
ultimately you have to look at what the auto product is doing which takes
time. You often find that what the auto software did, wasn't what you
wanted. So back to editing."
Does the above relate to anything anyone has suggested about profiles?
