Jeff,
"understand that CRII, C1, whatever, is better
than the offerings the camera companies provided (with the possible
exception of PhotoDesk from Kodak-course their cameras kinda suck) and
rather than denigrate tools you don't know how to use, perhaps the
venting
and ranting would be better aimed at Nikon, Canon and the other camera
companies who produced hardware without any talent and skills at
producing
equivalent software."
I have been happily using Nikon Capture 3.5 for over a year now. When
I get the PS upgrade, I will of course try the CRII, but since I am
very pleased with the color in Capture, like the non destructive and
interrelated edits esp. with curves, exposure, unsharpening, and white
balance, and the speed with the G5 is OK, I may not give the CRII as
good try as I should. I was hoping you could perhaps give a few more
details on why Nikon Capture sucks which would give me the incentive to
do CRII justice.
Also, The Nikon NEF is never permanently altered in Capture. Is this
the dame in CRII or do you need to do a "save as".
Cheers,
Henry
