Hello everyone,
We are a medium sized BTL advertising agency based in Dubai, United Arab
Emirates.
We have a fairly good understanding of colour management and have
successfully implemented digital contract proofing using Epson 10600 and
Best Screenproof...... it's been a long and winding road, but eventually
we've got to the stage where we are now phasing out our trusty analog
Cromalin setup.
I'd like to thank all members of the list for sharing their expertise here
- I can't tell you how useful reading the posts has been as we have tiptoed
gingerly through the minefield of base linearisation, calibration,
profiling, spectrophotometers, proofing media, paper profiles and a host of
other issues. When we started we knew nothing, now, more than 18 months
later, we know a little......but we are self-sufficient and we have
achieved our objective of switching from analog to digital. It's been worth
the effort!
We are now in the process of setting up an in-house large format print
bureau to handle point-of-sale materials, banners, in-store graphics etc
for our clients. The output will all be for indoor use.
I would be grateful for any comments, advice or shared experience that any
of you may have to help us decide whether we should go with Encad 880 or HP
5500 printers. Either way we'll be driving them with the Best PhotoXposure
rips.
Kind regards,
Clive Howard
