Hello Terry!
Your way over the Photoshop is quite long, I also thought about it, but
there are many places to make a mistake in such way, I think.... Try
Excell, it's much simple, and it's possible to work directly with 'L'
without touching 'a' and 'b' (just copy it from original file to new
one).
Also there is the question how do you edit L? What is the curve? Do you
just move Lmin of the proofer to 0? Or do you move Lmin of the proofer
to Lmin of Press (I think it's more properly)? Do you make some kink to
prevent changing L in halftones and lights?
By the way - which ColorLab version do you use? ColorLab for PC version
2.7 makes a terrible mistake during convertion from TEXT to TIFF. Are
you sure that your ColorLab don't make mistakes?
PS: You can connect me directly by e-mail, I can make BP adjustment to
your measurements and you'll see if it works or not.
Best regards,
Alexey Gribunin, UNIT Copier, Moscow, Russia.
