Roger,
Eizo told me they make their own LCDs in Japan. At least two of the other
leading LCD brands get their panels from Philips in Europe.
Eizo has a VERY noticeable advantage in both viewing angle and tonal
smoothness. Color Gamut is a bit better too, but gamut is hardly an issue
any more in LCDs.
