I should add one consideration. We would be looking to purchase on the low end of the price spectrum ($900-$1500 street), so I'm particularly interested in hearing what is a good value in that range and what to watch out for -- or a link to a good source of comparsion info.
I'm aware that this is tangential to the purpose of this list, so if you prefer, feel free to respond off-list.
