Here9s what I did. I used the EyeOne Pro (Spectrophotometer) and
ProfileMaker Pro. I told the software NOT to do a calibration first (since I
used the Artisan software). I measured as far as possible in the upper left
and right corner (top and bottom) as well as center. There is only so far
the GUI which shows the measurement area in PMP will go in the upper corners
for some reason. But the measurements were taken far from center! The EyeOne
was white tile calibrated between each measurement.
I saved out all the data files so I could open them in MeasureTool and use
the Compare function. I ended up with 5 data files. Now I should point out
that the data files are of many different measurements that the software
throws to the screen (I didn9t for example just do a single reading on a
white patch).
OK I have five measurement files of which it appears there are 99 samples
measured. In MeasureTool, I don9t know a way to average all 5 so let me do
this and tell you how some compare with others:
Center verses Lower Left: Average deltaE of 1.48
Center verses Upper Left: Average deltaE of 3.16
Center verses Upper Right: Average deltaE of 2.44
Center verses Lower Right: Average deltaE of 2.79
Further:
Lower Right verses Upper Right: Average deltaE of 1.01
Lower Left verses Upper Left: Average deltaE of 2.29
Note that this is with MeasureTool specifying 3deltaE2 however, to give you
color geeks an idea, if I instead pick deltaE 94 (with such low values, my
understanding is this is a better way to calculate) and compare the 3worst
results2 above I get this:
Center verses Upper Left: Average deltaE of 1.84!
One thing that concerns me and might affect the 3science2 is that I9m
running a dual display system. My palette display is on the left of the
Artisan. I notice that when I move the measurement window for ProfileMaker
to the upper right or lower left that the 2nd display goes 3black2 which I
think might be the software 3thinking2 it9s dealing with the 2nd display.
But the colors and EyeOne are on the Artisan.
Anyone that wishes to have the 5 data files can have em and do their own
comparisons (but please report back here for the rest of us).
