Hi Richard,

this is probably not a particularly 'scientific' method .... but for convincing Apple of a monitor's colour variation or for determining uneven brightness .... why not use photographer's tools. A lightmeter and a 'lightmeter style' colourmeter? Surely a difference in brightness in 1/10th stops would be sufficient. I'd challenge anyone to notice a lesser difference. A monitor is just a light source, after all. *:)
