Well it is emissive mode, it's the same sensor geometry (o deghrees) as when
profiling monitors. The only difference between the old and new Eye One is
software functionality and the ambient lighthead (ok maybe something is
different inside as well).

but measuring light falling the head of the i1 as in trying to characterize
the spectrum from a light source, right?
Yes, but the source of a lightsource diffused by an opal white plastic
thingy, tha Ambient lighthead.

assume you guys are refering to the i1 Photo.
Yep. Or Publish or Beamer - why not just call it Eye One Pro <G>.

what radiometric units is the i1 measuring in this mode: microWatts / m2/sr?
The reference file is in 10nm increments, other than that I don't know...
Have a look at www.i1color.com and snoop around a bit...

Seriously thinking about upgrading my i1 to an i1 Photo. (or Publish?)
Same instrument the licence code just triggers a bit more software
functionality. If you have ProfileMaker you won't gain anything from publish
that you don't already have in ProfileMaker (think the separation presets
under separations). It's the same instrument.
