Thank you David, Joe, Michael for your help.
Meanwhile the whole story became much clearer. The adobe gammer loader was
definitely not involved. My friend made a complete new install and he tried
the USB ports from a purchased PCI USB card and from a powered USB hub. He
"did not notice a big difference" but as a matter of fact the desktop color
now visually changes when the profile is loaded. I also told him to change
the desktop color from blue to gray and he said the gray now appears neutral
to his eyes after the profile has been loaded. I am still unable to check
why the gun balance should have changed so much.
Another factor may have been the camera's white point and the color
perception of the eye. I also asked him to send me the photos he was (still)
complaining about. He did not like the skin and hair colors but on one photo
I could see that there were trees with dark green leaves in the background
of the little boy. The eye does not recognize such a green cast but a camera
does. The other photo was taken inside and the illumination may have been
difficult to neutralize for an automatic white point detection.
His printer may have compensated these effects. I'll make a custom profile
for him and send him a reference print to see if his output then will match
mine.
Sorry for the long story and...
Thanks again,
Peter
