I recently started using basICColor Display 2.5 with Squid under OS-X
(native). It works fine in "manual" mode albeit a bit slowly for my
taste. But I was disappointed when the DDC cable did not work with my
(DDC-capable) Formac 22" monitor. After finally reaching someone at
basICColor (and also at ICS: I don't know how these 2 companies are
related) I was promised a fix would be posted.
I have 2 questions:
1) If posted, where will it be? I can't find any support area at
either the basICColor or the ICS website.
2) If anyone out there knows what some of the more esoteric options
in basICColor Display are all about, perhaps they could share. I
assume they're not crucial as I get acceptable profiles (manually)
with the default settings, but I am curious and cannot find any help
files (there is no true printed manual either, in case RTFM comes to
anyone's mind).
My e-mails and requests thru the website system have gone unanswered.
I don't deem these 2 questions sufficiently urgent to call Derrick on
his cell phone (which he did graciously provide at one point).

PS -- After reading about the scary match-phrase system (detailed
even in the package I got, for some historical reason no doubt), I
was pleased that version 2.5 actually behaves normally, just like
any other piece of software with a serial number. At least the
match-phrase problem has been eliminated, undoubtedly none too soon.
