I'm in deep trouble with a Photo 2100. Everything now has a major
magenta
cast. It seems as though the trouble started after installing Pshop CS.
If you print with preview and select same as source things look fine,
but as
soon as you select a profile everything goes red. Tried different
profiles
and they do the same.
Funny thing also is that when you view image and select assign profile
and
check preview box, image remains the same even when selecting several
profiles.
Setup a new G5 with 10.3.3 then installed CS and latest 2100 driver.
Tried
again and same happens.
Epson think its a problem with the printer but I think something
seriously
going wrong in the OS CMS/ driver/CS combination. As greyscale looks
ok with
CMS turned off.
Ive tried a few different combinations but no results as yet and I
need to
output loads of pics for tomorrow! Should have kept the old G4 on 10.2!
Your problem may be the default Gimp-Print print driver.
I believe that the default printer driver for the Epson 2100 under OS
10.3 is Gimp Print.
My experience with Gimp Print under OS 10.3 on a G% with Photoshop CS
and the Epson 2200 was terrible.
The following link allows you to download a Gimp-Print uninstaller.
Scroll down and look on the right.
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3
You may want to remove Gimp Print and install the Epson 2100 driver
from the CD that came with the printer.
Make sure in the OS print dialogue box, that comes up after you click
OK in Photoshop, that you are not doing any color management.
Where it shows Copies and Pages, click and scroll down to Color
Management and make sure No Color Adjustment is checked.
I assume that you have cleaned the print heads and done a nozzle check.
In this age of constantly evolving computers and software it never
hurts to have a workable system on an older machine when you experiment
with a new machine and new software.
