The only6 part that leaves subjective interpretation in this case is the scene rendering to film. I can be very close to what we see or very abstract. I find digital cameras far closer at recording what the eye sees. The artistic rendering of film of course still has it's place as photographers don't always want to record what they see in a real world and want the look of *the film*
A fully calibrated system can capture what ever is on or in the film and can print it with almost no modification to color and reproduces the scanned film faithfully.
