I recently became aware of the ColorEyes Software and was curious if anybody in the group was familiar with it and the process by which it calibrates an LCD monitor. It seems like it gives more precise adjustments for calibration than one would normally have on an Apple Cinema 23” or an Eizo. So, does this software IMPROVE the short fallings of the Apple Cinema from what is mostly reported (i.e. Bad black separation, smaller color gamut, etc.)?
I understand that a given monitor can not be improved upon beyond its capability, however, is the Apple Cinema being calibrated to its capacity with, for example, the Eye-One without any additional third party software such as ColorEyes? Is it possible that ColorEyes will aid in bringing the Apple Cinema “closer” to the quality of professional CRT’s (Sony, LaCie, etc.) than has been previously thought?
Just curious. I am not familiar with the ColorEyes Software but would like to know what any of the ColorSync Group members think of the software in general and as it relates to the above mentioned. Also, is it better than the Eye-One Match software?
Thanks,
Cody Thomas
