No but it's often necessary. I had to build profiles for a newspaper and
that paper was way too thin. I cut a piece of Epson think glossy paper to
size and just used that. No problems. I guess you could get fancy and make
your own out of black or some special white material but to be frank, the
Epson paper worked. A clean plastic guide would be useful as long as it
didn't cost $100.
