I can confirm there is no Media Black Point tag in the NKAdobe.icm profile. I do see a change in black max on conversions as well but never noticed any color clipping outside of black. Dropped using NKAdobe about 18 months ago because of this and older client systems and apps (PC) balking at the embedded name length with periods contained in the internal name. Have been tagging and/or assigning Adobe RGB (1998).icc ever since.
If you use an image browser or application like Photo Mechanic to ingest (download) your files from card or camera you can choose to 'tag' with the profile of your choice. I am in a similar situation to you and prefer to tag because converting in PS requires saving which alters the original shot.
