What are the realistic expectations for evenness of color and
neutrality across the face of a monitor? On my new (reconditioned)
LaCie Electron22BlueIV, I see color mottling and banding when viewing a
monochromatic background. The monitor's purity controls have little
effect. There is nothing else nearby that could cause magnetic
interference. I'm wondering whether the unit is defective, or whether
my expectations for uniformity are too high. LaCie tech support
suggests I find a dealer or neighbor with the same model and compare.
Can anyone suggest another way to judge my monitor's condition?
Also, I've heard that bigger CRT's can be less uniform than smaller
sizes. How do CRT's compare with LCD's in this regard?
Thanks,
Anton Marc
