While I agree with most of what you said, the CG21, which thus far is
the only LCD I'd consider for color-critical work, has a fixed
contrast ratio of 400:1. The Artisan (in a cave, admittedly) can do
500:1. The blacks on the CG21 (and on all the other LCDs I've seen)
are much weaker than on the Artisan. I'm waiting for a hood from EIZO
to see how much that mitigates the issue.
They're both very nice monitors...
