I'm sorry, this topic is not directly related to ColorSync, but since
there are many Mac and scanners users within the list, I thought it
would be a good place to discuss the matter.
It seems that SCSI can't be supported at all by Classic via OSX.
Basically, the AHA2930CU card that came with my G4 works fine with OS9.2
and also with OSX with a native OSX application. But when I want to use
it with a OS9 scanning application via OSX, the card and scanner cannot
be found. System profiler sees it in OS9 and in OSX but not in Classic
via OSX. This is a common issue, but is there no workaround? I'm told a
SCSI to Firewire adapter will not do any better.
Are some cards recognized or is it possible for instance to remove some
files and drivers from OSX so that the card will be taken over by
Classic instead of OSX? Has anyone had success in a way or another?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Paul Schilliger
