First of all, the degree of resultant 'bluishness' or 'yellowishness'
appearance on screen would not be that terrible in absolute terms: as a
matter of fact, an image containing no white whathsoever would not be
displayed any differently, if I am not mistaking. Secondly, wouldn't we'd
readily adapt to it anyway?
That's just it. - you won't adapt to the document D50 white on a D65
calibrated monitor if there is any place on the screen where the D65 white is
significantly visible. Your eye will remain adapted to the highest luminace white (D65
in this example) and the D50 doc white will look yellow.
