Kodak actually hired me to do a lot of testing on ProPhoto back when it was still known as ROMM RGB, and after torturing it, I found that I really liked the way it worked. Mainly I like being sure that my choice of working space absolutely will not produce any clipping!

I've had no issues going from ProPhoto to output spaces that I wouldn't also have had using any other space. The only other working space I'm likely to convert to is sRGB for web delivery.

David, Rik and Bruce,

What was your rationale for going with ProPhoto RGB? Was the decision based primarily on Lab gamut efficiency?
Any issues in later converting from 16 bit, gamma 1.8 (ProPhoto RGB) to 8 bit, gamma 2.2 (e.g., AdobeRGB or another output profile)?
