Also the width should be at it's widest setting.
You can put a black start earlier in the GCR at the determent of the light
tones having some peppering ( amount depending on the printer character).
This works well on dye inks as it effectively cuts out problematic
overprinting yellow in the neutrals. Your other alternative is to use a rip
that allows un-checking black replacement keeping the black and near black
at the colour of the ink tank K.
