I was thinking about the Input profiles and this is my conclusion...
With the right profile ALL the input devices has exactly the same gamut! =
and this gamut could be the cieLab space...
No, placing different RGB spaces within Lab, and mapping the device response apppropriately in Lab does not make them the same, it makes them all different... just linked to a universal connection space, thus "relatable: to one another, except for the issues of colors outside the gamut of either one. But since source profiles are a one way street, that is not really an issue, except for comparing one to another.

All the devices (scaners, digital cameras etc...) capture RGB values =
(normally 8 bit by channel) from 0 to 255 for each color.
And when you make the Icc the Soft is making a relation between the =
"Spectral" colors of the target and RGB answer of the device... this =
means that all the spectral color are "scaneable"...
Well, lets say you map a response for the device to a range of colors... not quite the same, but it effectively maps a "gamut" for the device...
them, for each =
color of the Lab space, you should to have an RGB value....
Yes, with many of them out of gamut, and in need of specification as such...
I dont care =
if you got the same RGB for a different Lab-s (you got 6451600 possible =
Lab values against 16581375 RGB values)....=20
I dont know if you know what I mean (sorry my poor English)... but is =
that right????
You are thinking in many of the right terms for ICC profiles, but missing a few details that are necessary to make a practical process...
