Since you are using ProfileMaker why not just build two profiles (one with
correction and one without) and convert a Lab grayscale to each profile?
That should tell you pretty quickly if the numbers differ in the highlights
(color cast). Lastly make some prints to compare visually. Then you can
confirm, what if any, effect the correction checkbox is doing for you.
