Hi list,
I'm wondering if anyone of you had ever any experience with profiling Phaser
Tektronix printer (especially older machines i.e. Phaser 780).
I have to do some sort of print house simulation on mentioned machine.
I've got print house profile, my Phaser is quite stable (av. Delta E
measured in two day's time is below 2,5 on TC3.5) - so I took a risk to
generate profile of the printer. So - now I have two profiles that I need to
combine to achieve simulation.
I found on Xerox website small soft called "PhaserMatch ICC" which should
enable me to:
- create device link from two profiles: simulation and printer,
- modify it if I want, regarding any CMYK TIFF file,
- resave it,
- AND DOWNLOAD IT INTO PRINTER DRIVER!!!
And... Here is the problem. Although I installed printer properly with
drivers downloaded from mentioned website - PhaserMatch ICC do not want
neither to open any profile as a printer profile (mine PM4.1 generated or
any other incl. those visible in driver) nor to update printer driver with
Device Link profile generated on other software.
The device link file itself is properly readable and editable by
PhaserMatch ICC software!
When I wand to do 'update driver' command - I receive strange info bar:
<required software not found>. Unfortunately I found no info what is this
required software for downloading file into driver. As it is obvious any
other way of embedding Device Link is not possible. (as it is Device Link
not normal ICC profile)
I'll be very grateful for any suggestions.
