web browser color differences

Not sure if this is appropriate on this list, but I am noticing big
differences in quality of jpg's on Safari vs Internet Explorer.
Safari gives me great color, but my images look washed out on IE.

I have been saving for web in photoshop which saves the image via
ImageReady. This gives the smallest file size.

Any ideas about why the differences? I never seemed to have a problem
before.

Does it make any difference to embed profiles or not....ie Adobe RGB
1998?

I am using PS CS and Panther, latest version.

I would appreciate any ideas.
