An update. Apparently this was all a mistake and nothing to worry about (Jim
was right):

you will find the answer I posted. (see also below) I would highly
appreciate if you could post a note on the colorsync forum saying that you
clipped the answer:
GretagMacbeth has always embraced ALL the consequences of the effective use
of a standard, as we perfectly know that the value of a workflow lies in its
seamlessness and its ability to connect the various actors in a
non-obtrusive, fluid and compatible way.
From Profile Maker 3.0, we have always authorized the use and communication
of profiles for color consultants and users alike; The only limitation
contained in our EUL (end -user license) limits the use of these profiles in
"generic" installations; This use pattern applies when a manufacturer (a RiP
vendor, a paper vendor, printer vendor) wants to embed these profiles within
its devices as part of a commercial product offering. In that case the terms
and conditions associated with "end-user" type of utilization do not apply:
this is covered in a more specific type of license agreement (VAR or OEM
agreement).
With the license agreement in PM5 we intended to update the wording for the
software part, but did not change our profile license policy at all.
Obviously the wording can lead to some misinterpretation though. We will
check and correct this asap.
