I have seen this new word Prebinding pop up on lists lately and and tonight
at our local colorsync meeting is was used again. This time I asked for a
clear definition of this word and my colleague who was using it did not seem
that sure of its exact meaning.
So... If there is a real clear definition of this word I sure would like to
know what it means. Can anyone shed some light on this new word.
Prebinding is a concept generated from the grey matter in my skull.
Prebinding is, in simple terms, the attachment of an output space to a file that resides in a
working space.
Prebinding is a reversible separation.
A prebound file is an RGB file that never sees CMYK until the file is rendered to said CMYK
output space.
A prebound workflow is the glue to the mess in the print industry.
There are three phases of process control.
Prebinding is the middle phase.
