A prebound file is an RGB file that never sees CMYK until the file is
rendered to said CMYK output space.
If this is indeed the intended meaning of this word, it's a poor
choice of word for this concept. It is a word that suggests quite
the opposite to what it is supposed to mean !
Current meanings of "bound":
restricted to
to limit, to restrain
ready, prepared
So "prebound" sound like a file that is already pre configured for one particular
destination, ie. pre-separated for a particular press ("bound to" that device),
wheras the above definition is closer to "unbound", not tied to a particular
device.
