The profile for the ultimate device (press/contract proof) or the proofers?
I don't know of any way to do this other than just print a lot of
representative images and viewing them under controlled lighting. The images
are key meaning you need memory colors, some synthetic imagery (Granger
Rainbow, step wedges etc). Some software may tell you that you have errors
in one or both sets of tables but that's not going to do any good in fixing
the issue. The statistical values can't be plugged into a profile editor to
fix the issues which are hopefully small. If not, no amount of editing can
fix the problems meaning, start from scratch with a different package or
target. Profile editing is for minor tweaking.

That's the problem. The data you get only provides a lot of numbers which as
far as I know can't fix the issues. You need to first decide using images
and a good deal of output if the profiles are up to snuff or not. If they
are but need minor editing, then it's just a fly by the seat of your pants
experience of tuning and viewing (or running new sets of numbers using
Rogers tests). Keep in mind that a colorimetrically correct profile isn't
always going to produce the best/preferred output or at least output that
guarantees a client will prefer it. One of the best instruments to use to
decide on how well a profile behaves is the one on either side of your nose.
