Colorsync Quartz filters

Well, no tips yet for printing from Acrobat reader (we don't use a print
server), but that comment in the iPhoto thread about applying CS Quartz
filters has me intrigued. Hadn't even't noticed that option before I saw
it mentioned here on the list, since my main machine has to remain on OS
10.2.8, pre-CS-filters.
If it does what it should, this could be a enormous help in printing from
non-CM aware apps.

I'll be testing it one of these days, when I can find a few spare
moments. The description that was given earlier already sparked a few
questions in my head. But before I start delving:

- Is this something that's mature enough to practically use with a
variety of applications, or have people experienced bugs/limitations that
one should be aware of?

- Is there perhaps a resource on the web to start off with, something
that thoroughly explains every step in the process, and looks into all
the available settings?

Thanks, Wim
