It works good with one ink. It works better with dyes. It works best when you get enough light through without burning the layer.
Today I printed a dark blue stronger than Pantone Reflex Blue U 2x and better than my silkscreen ink swatches but it needed a full throttle RIP setting with yellow cut out and two print runs on the same sheet. Lucky that it was just a rectangle. Had little to do with colour management though.
