I am trying to explain file size to someone just getting involved with
digital and used this method with an 8x10 at 250ppi as the example:
8b times 250 PPI = 2000 Pixels
10b times 250 PPI = 2500 Pixels
2000 times 2500 = 5,000,000 Pixels per channel
RGB = 3 channels
3 times 5,000,000 Pixels = 15,000,000 pixels = 15MB
Now, can anyone explain to me why the actual flattened TIFF size reads
14.3MB, whether or not a profile is attached?
Thanks!
Ralph Tomaccio
