Not quite -:).
It is correct that just as for PostScript Fax the vision was
office-based in that any application using any font would stream
PostScript itself or through the OS PS driver in order to create a
digital archive. The key component of Acrobat was Catalogue which cost
DKK 15.000 and only ran on NT and the client Search which was a
licenced product. It is not correct that the vision was only
office-based as the advertising also addressed remote approval. The
move to a prepress conceptualization only began with Acrobat 3 in which
Distiller first included prepress features. (Guess who wrote the
reviews of Acrobat 2 and 3 here in Scandinavia.)
